Exceptional

The location was amazing. Close to a metro station and many shops and restaurants. The rooms and common areas were very clean. It was also surprisingly quiet at night. There were also lockers big enough for a laptop and other smaller items (but you need to bring your own lock).

Was a brilliant hostel and well worth the money for staying in the central of Hongdae! Brain the owner was so lovely and helpful with everything! Would really recommend if you are looking for somewhere brilliant and cheap to stay in Seoul!

The only thing was the beds were pretty hard but that's normal for korea!

Great.

Near to train station. If you follow their video instruction, you can avoid all the ridiculous stairs and hills. It's also in bustling Hongdae so I felt safe with many people around. A lot of nearby shops. The facilities were great. Everything you need is there. Brian was also very helpful. Will definitely stay here again!!!

The best value place to stay in Hongdae!

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Hongdae, but in a quiet street so it was quiet at night to sleep. The double room and bed was comfortable (I loved the underfloor heating in the room - so cosy!) and the complimentary breakfast of eggs, bread, cheese and coffee was appreciated. Brian the host is kind and friendly, and he will make you feel very welcome and ensure you get the most out of your time in Seoul.

The ensuite shower was temperamental when it came to water temperature and was often only luke warm

Room was spacious - we got the largest room, and turns out we have the whole floor to ourselves including a private patio. It was too cold as it was winter so we did not use it, but we could imagine it being a great place to chill in any other season. We also had a private kitchenette, a sofa, a fridge. Couldn't believe we were getting so much at a guesthouse and not a hotel. Staff was also very friendly and helped us to carry our luggage upstairs. They also readily answered any queries we had through booking.com messaging. Very near to the heart of hongdae shopping street, and even in the immediate area there were plenty of cafés. Would recommend checking out Mark's Loft nearby, we had their strawberry cake and I'd say it is one of the better cakes I had during my trip to Korea.

The toilet and shower room was really cold during winter. They did install a heat lamp which did help with the situation but not ideal. Hot water is finite so if you take long showers it will run out. Easily mediated by showering quickly though.

The room I stayed felt like home. Clean, good smell, good quality linens and very sweet decoration. Everything is really good, the amenities, location, bathroom temperature, laundry, the tour and happy hour programs. They clean everyday, the house has a good mood and it is well decorated. The location I thinks perfect if you are in a very urban vibes mood. Even tho the room and house itself are calm and quite. The host is so lovely and take good care of us, almost like a father. I love the stay!

Sometimes the room temperature gets too warm due the heating system. But it is manageable by AC. Usually in SK they don’t use big size shower towels, and it was the case, we were provided with 2. It is ok for me, but surprising. It is difficult to get changed in the bathroom so I recommend robe.

Great place to stay with good location

Brian was a great host. Took me and some to her guests to a tour that was very local- I was able to meet people to hang out with through this. And also created a fun atmosphere for the hostel in general. Dorm beds were clean and comfortable. Location was perfect. 5 min walk from busy Hongdae streets and 5 min walk to station which is on the same line as incheon airport.

This is hands down the BEST guesthouse in Seoul/Korea ! From the location to the facilities, everything is perfect there. It is the best place to meet people from all over the world and the host Brian is a nice and amazing person who won't hesitate to get out of his ways to help you and make you feel at home. The saying is that once you come to Bunk Guesthouse, you will come back there in the future and it is definitely what I will do aswell!

Possibly the hostel that I have enjoyed the most as experience in over 20 countries

Awesome, what can I said that hasn't been said already? Brian is an outstanding host. I have been in several countries and no doubt, as a whole, this has been my best experience so far. Yes, there may be more fancy hostels, but the rooms are simple but functional, comfortable, clean, safe, I don't need anything else, I prefer the focus on the important things. Showers are big, everything is cleaned really well every day, I am very allergic to dust mites and in this place I was better than even in my own home, which I really care because of this. This only point is enough for me to give it a 10, I always struggle with allergy when travelling. Also, Brian thought every detail, for example something as silly as even having a phone charger with a lot of slots and different connectors in the common area so you don't have to leave the phone charging in the room. As you may guess, someone that gets to that amount of detail has real care for everything. Also, he does, for a very reasonable charge, experiences that are less touristy, taking you with his car to places. Brian keeps the vibe always high and makes people interact, so the vibe of the place is awesome, you make friends there. As long as you respect other travellers, rules are relaxed and Brian even joins people for a drink in the common area sometimes, he seems to really enjoy what he does. This hostel sets the bar very high. The price is ridiculous for what you get.

the staff is really nice and helpfull. the location is awesome.

there are screen number key to open the door. around midnight somebody open my door. i suppose some room have the same code. not the most pleasant moment of my stay. may be each room should have a différent code

Brian is a great host and makes you feel at home. the hostel is clean and comfortable. it has a great social aspect allowing you to mix with fellow travellers with ease. I stayed here on two occasions in 2 weeks as I enjoyed it so much. location is also perfect only 5 min walk from the station.

Amazing!

The location is prime, and our double private room with bathroom was well worth the price (super clean, comfy bed, and windows/ room were mostly sound proof) The owner, Brian, was the best host. He is so accommodating, gives great advice, and made you feel like you are home. We would definitely recommend staying here. Brian if you are reading this, we left our left over fried chicken in the fridge and we are so disappointed in ourselves (lol)!
